OH MY GOD! I just came back online and saw that the previous picture of my ball gown had more than 1.000 notes. What happened, guys!? This is AMAZING! Thank you so much!!

After a long day at the office and the gym I finally found a bit of time to take a proper preview picture of the costume. So. Yeah. This is me as Belle. (Although I sort of remind myself of Sissi?!) I hope you like it. I’m certainly happy with the way it turned out.

Alright, guys! Here it is. My second costume project of 2014 is finished. As you can see it’s a slightly different interpretation of Belle’s golden ball gown from Disney’s The Beauty and the Beast.

Belle is my favourite Disney princess and I wanted to wear this dress since I was about 4 years old, so this is literally like a dream come true. I made the whole costume in about 1 1/2 weeks. Everything worked out much faster than I expected, but I’m happy. It feels really good to be able to relax before an event for once.

The outfit is actually not a proper dress. It consists out of a corsage and the huge skirt. For the corsage I used two layers of duchesse satin and organza. To make it more sturdy I added another layer of thin cotton fabric. The ornamented center piece was covered with lace tulle. The brooch I used to decorate the corsage was a gift from one of my mother’s colleagues. She’ll be thrilled to see what I used her jewellery for.
The skirt consists out of three layers of fabric as well. Base is a circle skirt made out of golden duchesse satin which was covered with another full circle skirt out of lace tulle. For the drapes I stitched huge panels of organza together and gathered them along the seams. The skirt alone is made out of approximately 20m of fabric. I’m wearing a four-hoop-skirt underneath the skirt to give it its extremely poofy look.

I hope you like it! :D

Retweet for the people from different time zones. I’m just really proud of this project, okay?

Welcome to another world called Renaissance. Gala Nocturna is a wonderfull costume ball with inspiring themes. Every year they have a new theme. This year: the pope’s daughter (italy 15th century) One of the best activities was the historical dance. I don’t had sense of time, but it seems to be gone for 1 hour.Aigue-marine and me are in the middle of this church ❤ (yes, the costume ball was inside a stunning church)✄—-you can find me here:  facebook   , main-tumblr  and   deviantART

Reblogging because I’m in this photograph too! Naraku and I rocked the dance floor! From the basics steps to the Ballo di Fiori - We mastered them all!

A picture of my latest (UNFINISHED!) costume taken at Gala Nocturna in Antwerp, Belgium! When it’s finished it’s supposed to be more flattering Lucrezia Borgia from The Borgia series…

This weekend I successfully time-traveled to the period of Italian Renaissance and back…
My costume is yet to be finished. I will rewear it with a better wig and a couple of further accessories in about a month.
